Position Purpose:
The University of the West of England (UWE) Internship Scheme 2024/2025 is designed to provide students with practical experience in a professional working environment. The program aims to enhance employability by offering real-world exposure in various industries, helping students apply their academic knowledge to practical tasks, and develop transferable skills. Interns will work with industry professionals, gaining insights into workplace culture and operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily operational tasks within assigned departments, including administration, project management, or research.
- Collaborate with team members on assigned projects, contributing ideas and completing tasks.
- Conduct research, data analysis, or market studies relevant to the department’s objectives.
- Support marketing, outreach, or promotional activities through social media, content creation, or event coordination.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to develop professional skills and industry knowledge.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation required for internal and external use.
- Provide customer service and administrative support, where needed, within the assigned area.
Education:
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or postgraduate student at the University of the West of England or another accredited institution.
- Relevant coursework or academic background aligned with the department or role of interest (e.g., Business, IT, Marketing, Engineering, Arts, etc.).
Experience:
- Prior work experience is not required but will be beneficial, especially in roles such as volunteering, part-time work, or involvement in student societies.
- Experience in customer service, administration, project work, or research is advantageous.
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or relevant software.
